We organize and empower domestic workers and caregivers in Houston. We are mobilizing the community to improve wages, working conditions and policies. We are leading a city-wide campaign for the domestic workers’ Bill of Rights.

Martha Ojeda has worked in the U.S. for 25 years to help workers and use their power to demand just wages and safe conditions. In 1996, she was brutally forced from Mexico into political exile for exercising her labor rights. She co-authored with Rosemary Hennessy NAFTA From Below. 

​

Celeste Monforton is an expert in occupational health and safety policy. She worked at the U.S. Department of Labor (1991-2001), has a doctorate of public health, and is co-author of a book about worker centers from The New Press (May 2021).
